How BeatTrees Works
From YouTube scan to actionable insights — here's what happens behind the scenes.
1. Daily YouTube Scan
Every day at 6 AM UTC, BeatTrees searches YouTube across 46 search terms spanning 8 genres: Trap, Drill, R&B, Hip Hop, Afrobeats, Pop, Pluggnb/Rage, and Reggaeton/Latin.
2. Data Collection
For each beat found, we collect the title, channel name, subscriber count, view count, like count, upload date, and tags. Videos are deduplicated — if a beat appears in multiple searches, we keep the first match.
3. Velocity Scoring
Every beat gets a velocity score calculated as views divided by days since upload. Higher velocity means a beat is gaining traction faster. This powers the Trending page and helps identify beats before they blow up.
4. Saturation Analysis
We count how many beats were uploaded per keyword over 7, 30, and 90-day windows. Keywords with 100+ weekly uploads are flagged as High saturation, 40+ as Moderate, and under 40 as Low — helping you find open niches.
5. AI Insights
Our AI consultant has access to live trending beats and saturation data. When you ask a question, real-time market context is injected into the prompt so Claude can give you specific, data-backed answers.
6. Alerts & Tracking
Set up custom alerts for keywords you care about. Save beats, follow producers, and build collections to track your market over time.
Data Freshness
Beat data is refreshed daily. Velocity and saturation scores are recalculated on every run, so the numbers you see always reflect the latest state of the market. The AI consultant pulls live data on every conversation.
